Peschici Castle: what to see, tickets, and panorama

Even though the historic center of Peschici is the main attraction, the castle adds an important piece to understanding the village's history. Plus, it offers one of the most beautiful views of the entire Gargano coast.

The building dominates the highest point of the promontory. For centuries, it served a defensive role, controlling the stretch of the Adriatic in front of Peschici. Today, you can visit it, and it's one of the most interesting stops for those who want more than just a stroll through the alleys.

What to see inside the Peschici Castle

Reaching the castle is easy. Once you pass the Porta del Ponte and take Corso Garibaldi, just follow the uphill alleys to the highest part of the village. Along the way, you'll find shops, panoramic terraces, and some of the most photographed views of Peschici.

If you arrive by car, the easiest way is to park at Parcheggio G. Di VittorioParcheggio G. Di Vittorio, about five minutes on foot from the historic center. From there, you can reach the castle with a short walk, avoiding the ZTL restrictions and the narrow village streets.

The castle rooms help you learn about the village's history and the Gargano area. One of the most intriguing parts is the exhibit on medieval torture instruments. It shows the harsh side of justice back then, making it a must-see for history buffs.

But the main reason to enter is the panoramic garden. From here, you can see Peschici's historic center, the port, and a long stretch of the Adriatic Sea.

During our visit, it was windy, and the sea was stormy. The sound of waves crashing against the cliffs made the atmosphere even more captivating. It turned the castle visit into something beyond just seeing a monument. The panoramic terrace left the biggest impression on us.

The entrance ticket costs 5 euros. Considering the view and the historical value, we recommend adding it to your Peschici itinerary.
