Walk between Lido Matinelle and Ponte Lama in Trani

Between Lido Matinelle and Ponte Lama in Trani, it is now possible to walk a seaside path about 1.2 km long with access to the coast and steps down to the sea. Here’s what the area is really like, how much the lido costs, and what the food is like.

Walk between Lido Matinelle and Ponte Lama in Trani

Between Lido Matinelle and Ponte Lama, you can walk along the coast. There's a pedestrian path about 1.2 kilometers long. It lets you cross one of the quietest parts of Trani's southern shoreline.

The path includes three stairways for safe access to the sea. There are also two entrances from the former State Road 16.

The best way to enjoy this area? Spend a few hours at the lido during the day. Save the walk for late afternoon or dusk, when it's cooler and the light makes the coast nicer.

What the lido is like here

The lido is mostly visited by families. It's one of the few places with a sandy beach, though space is limited.

You can conveniently book through an app, especially during busy times.

The sea is okay for a few relaxing hours. But don't expect crystal-clear water. The seabed is murky in spots. It's different from famous places like Monopoli, Polignano, and Torre Guaceto.

We spent about 30 euros for a beach umbrella and services. Plus, app booking fees and separate paid parking. The parking area is large but uncovered. So, on hot days, your car is in full sun.

For lunch, we spent 32.50 euros total. That covered two dishes, a bottle of water, and a Coke.

The walk to Ponte Lama

The best part of the day, for me, was the evening walk.

The path is pedestrian-only, making it peaceful compared to busier coastal areas. It's not a tough trek. The 1.2 kilometers are easy, even for a simple seaside stroll.

Along the way, you'll see low Mediterranean scrub and wilder coastal areas. There are spots to view the sea from above. Then you can head down to the water using the stairs along the path.
