Parking in Courmayeur: Town Centre, Skyway and Prices
Find out where to park in Courmayeur depending on your visit: historic centre or Skyway, with rates and practical tips
Courmayeur doesn't have a train station. If you take the train, get off at Aosta. Then, continue by bus. That's why many visitors prefer driving directly. If you choose to drive, decide where to park first. The best spot depends on your visit's purpose. Want to stroll in the historic center? Park near Via Roma. Coming to ski? It's easier to park near the Dolonne lifts.
Where to park in Courmayeur
Courmayeur's roads are designed to limit traffic in the historic center. Some village streets are pedestrian-only. In winter, August, and busy weekends, areas near the center and lifts fill up quickly.
If you want to visit the historic center, the most convenient parking is at Piazzale Monte Bianco. From there, it's just a few minutes' walk to reach Via Roma. You can stroll through the village streets and visit the Museo Alpino Duca degli Abruzzi.
The first hour of parking is always free, perfect for a walk or a short visit. After the first hour, rates vary by season: €1.50 per hour in low season and €2.20 per hour in high season, with a daily maximum of €15 in low season and €22 in high season.
If your goal is to take the Skyway Monte Bianco or go hiking, it's better to park at Entrèves, the Courmayeur area where the cable car station is located. The parking is just steps from the Skyway entrance. It offers both covered and uncovered spots, allowing quick access to the lifts without crossing the town center. The first half-hour is free, while the daily rate is €10 for up to 12 hours and €15 for up to 24 hours, making it practical for a day of skiing or hiking on Monte Bianco.
