We were looking for a restaurant in Ostuni's historic center. We wanted a special view and to take some nice photos.
Is it worth choosing a restaurant with a view in Ostuni's historic center?
Ostuni is one of the most beautiful historic centers in Puglia. Walking through its white alleys, stairs, and arches is part of the famous White City experience. But this layout means many restaurants are in narrow streets or small spaces. Once seated, you often can't enjoy the town's architecture or surrounding landscape.
I personally prefer places where you can still enjoy the view. For example, Orto Giardino offers a front view of Ostuni from below, highlighting the White City's profile and colors. Vista Ostuni overlooks the olive plain to the Adriatic Sea. It's slightly outside the historic center, so it takes a few more minutes to walk there. Bloom Bistrot offers a different option. It's right on the main road to Piazza Sant'Oronzo. You can visit the historic center without going far, and it has a terrace with one of the best views we found in Ostuni.
The terrace at Bloom Bistrot caught our eye immediately.It overlooks the olive plains to the Adriatic Sea. It's one of the most beautiful views we found in Ostuni. Even though it's in the historic center, it feels open and spacious. You don't expect that while walking through the White City's alleys.After checking the menu, we decided to stay. The options convinced us right away. Besides classic Puglian dishes, there were more elaborate ones. Like almond-crusted fish fillet with zucchini cream and desalted capers, or grilled octopus tentacle.We chose an octopus salad as a starter and a main dish each.The prices seemed fair. For example, a shared appetizer (eggplant parmigiana at 12 € and a local meats and cheeses platter at 22 €) totals 34 euros, or 17 euros per person. Main courses range from 14 to 17 euros, and meat and fish dishes go up to 18 euros. These prices match the quality of the food and the location. Everything arrived looking inviting, with high-quality ingredients and perfect cooking.
We went to Bloom Bistrot mainly for the terrace. But what surprised us was the perfect balance of everything: well-prepared food, attentive service, and a satisfying location.
Here's a practical tip: we visited late in the evening, after sunset. This meant we couldn't fully enjoy the view of the olive plains. If you want to soak in the view -- and maybe take some photos -- it's best to book in the late afternoon. The warm light then lets you enjoy the terrace's true value.
Bloom Bistrot perfectly matches my preferences. It's a restaurant where the view invites you in, but you leave satisfied because the food and hospitality match the view.
