One of the best ways to truly appreciate Ostuni's unique architecture is, paradoxically, to step back a few hundred meters from the historic center. From here, you can see the White City as a whole: the white houses, its hilltop position, and in the evening, the lights that make it even more enchanting.
The Orto Giardino offers exactly this view: at the foot of the White City, surrounded by countryside, it combines Puglian cuisine, tranquility, and a romantic panorama.
While dining, Ostuni remains in view: slightly elevated and fully lit, it presents a different image than when strolling through the historic center's alleys.

In summer, reaching Ostuni by car and finding parking in the center takes time. Here, though, you arrive easily, park comfortably, and start dinner without stress.
Is it worth dining at Orto Giardino?
Orto Giardino is worth a visit, and here's why: the location is well-maintained, with tables set among the vegetable garden, vineyard, and garden, illuminated by soft lights that create a particularly intimate atmosphere.
The kitchen offers typical Apulian dishes made with local products. Some ingredients are grown directly by the farm. The appetizer shows this philosophy: burrata, capocollo from Martina Franca, fava beans, fried peppers, garden vegetables, focaccia, and other traditional Apulian products.
The wine list isn't very extensive, but it pairs well with the dishes. It's more than enough to find the right match.
Prices match the quality of the food and the care of the location. You spend about 30-40 euros per person, drinks included.
We were two couples with three kids.
The outdoor spaces let kids walk and move around a bit. But there are no play areas or activities for them. So, after a while, they end up wandering between tables. It's better to bring something to keep them entertained during dinner.
Visiting Ostuni for the first time, you naturally want to dine in the White City's alleys.
