Parking Guide for Cogne During Summer Weekends

Finding parking in Cogne isn't impossible. But arriving without a plan can waste time, especially on summer weekends, during autumn foliage, or in peak winter weeks. The town is small and popular, so convenient spots fill up fast in the morning.

Compared to other Alpine spots in Valle d'Aosta, Cogne is manageable if you know where to park. Whether it's your first visit or you're planning your day, this guide helps you decide where to park based on your plans. If you're still organizing your trip, check out our practical guide to reaching Cogne for all the directions you need.

Parcheggio Revettaz

Revettaz is the most convenient parking in town. It's spacious, well-organized, and recently resurfaced, making it tidier than many mountain parking lots. The spaces are wide, and there's a camper area at the end.

The best part is its location. An elevator connects the parking directly to the town center, handy if you have luggage, a stroller, or trekking gear. Next to the elevator exit, there's a small local dairy product vendor.

Park Bus Cogne

The Park Bus is the town's free parking. It's right after entering Cogne, so you see it immediately. You can walk to the center easily from here. It's also close to cross-country trails and main hiking spots. Perfect if you plan to spend the whole day outside, as we describe in our guide Cogne in a day between history and nature.

Free parking is surprising in a tourist alpine area, where most things cost. The only catch? On busy days, it fills up before other lots. So, arrive by 9:30-10 AM.

Camper Stop Area

For camper travelers, Cogne's stop area is modern and fully automated. You book and register your vehicle through an app. Pay the tourist tax at the area's machine. Just remember to bring your vehicle's document for registration.

The location is great: the center is a two-minute walk. Nearby are the cross-country trail and a green area with kids' playgrounds. The area offers electricity, water, waste disposal, and clean hot bathrooms. Showers aren't available.

A free shuttle connects the area to the ski lifts. This lets you leave the camper parked during your stay. It's also handy for visiting Prato di Sant'Orso without moving the vehicle constantly.

When to Arrive Early

On July and August weekends, during October foliage, and in mid-winter weeks, all three parking lots can fill by 10 AM. To ensure a spot, aim to arrive before then. For more on busy times and general costs, check our guide to costs and tourist seasons in Cogne.
