New Parking Plan Monopoli
Monopoli's new parking plan offers 125 parking spaces to enhance mobility and tourist reception.

What is the goal of the new parking plan? The city of Monopoli has launched a new experimental reorganization of parking in the urban center. The goal is to improve space management during the months of higher tourist influx and make urban mobility more efficient, especially during peak season.
What are the novelties of the plan? The new plan involves the temporary relocation of the parking area previously located in the Capitolo area (Porta Vecchia - Porto Bianco) to more central areas. The experiment will take place from April to October, focusing particularly on holidays and pre-holidays, and will be active daily from June 1 to September 30.
Where are the new parking areas located? The new parking areas are located in some strategic streets in the center of Monopoli: Via Padre Manghisi, Via Carlo Levi, Via Giovanni Verga, Via Pirano, Via Silone Iᵃ traversa, and Via Salvatore Quasimodo. A total of 125 parking spaces will be available in these areas, selected for their proximity to the historic center and to facilitate tourist flow.
What are the rates and discounts? The standard rate is 2 euros per hour, with the possibility of fractional payment. However, significant discounts are available: residents in the affected streets and nearby areas can access discounted subscriptions. For residents on Via Procaccia (civic numbers 1-41), a seasonal subscription can be obtained for 20 euros. For businesses in the historic center (area B), a reduced rate of 55 euros per quarter or 100 euros for the entire semester is available.
How can residents access the discounts? Access to these discounts will be subject to the presentation of the required documentation at the relevant offices. This system is designed to ensure that residents can benefit from more convenient rates, making mobility in the city center more sustainable.
Can residents park freely? Residents of the historic center will still be able to park freely in the 125 stalls, presenting the pass issued by the local police. This system aims to balance the needs of citizens with those of tourists and reduce the chaotic traffic that often characterizes the summer months.
How will this improve the livability of the city? With this reorganization, Monopoli is preparing to experience the summer season at its best. The new parking plan is just one of many initiatives to make the city more welcoming, orderly, and ready to welcome tourists from all over Italy and the world. The hope is that these measures will contribute to creating a more livable and sustainable urban environment for everyone.
