Bari has surpassed 70,000 overnight stays in a week thanks to events and services attracting more and more tourists.
Now, Bari isn't just busy in summer. The city is lively all year. Visitor numbers have skyrocketed. Finding a decent, affordable room downtown is tough. Especially on weekends or during events. I visited for the Business Tourism at the Fiera del Levante.
More visitors, both Italian and foreign, are choosing Bari. They come for the historic center, the seafront, the Basilica of San Nicola, and the street food. The vibe is lively even in November or February, not just August.
Thanks to more frequent low-cost flights from Karol Wojtyła airport, and the growth in spring and autumn tourism, Bari's popularity is rising. December even sees over 500,000 regional visitors. Cultural, food, and trade events help too. Bari isn't just a stopover to the Salento or Adriatic coast anymore. It's now an attractive destination year-round.
If you're after luxury, Bari has high-end options. They're mainly in the Murattiana area and along the seafront, between the Madonnella district and the central area. The Murat district, with Via Sparano, is popular for its central location. You can walk to the historic center in minutes, and the main station is nearby. Prices start around 150 euros per night, but they vary with the season.
