Artisanal Ice Cream in Bari
Artisanal ice cream in Bari combines quality and conviviality, featuring unique flavors like Fior di Mandorla and Caffè Barese.
There are many ways to get to know a city. And just as many to remember it. I don't aim for a Nobel in culture. I remember and judge places I visit by their food. Especially if we're talking about ice cream shops, then I remember everything.
For me, Gelateria Gentile is the best artisanal ice cream shop in Bari. It offers consistent quality, excellent ingredients, and balanced flavors that don't tire you out. They win you over at the first taste.
The flavor is rich and very natural, with varieties changing daily. The salted caramel, enriched with crunchy peanuts inside, is truly remarkable.
The ice creams are very good, and the service is efficient. The place is well-organized, with many young people at the counter. They're not super professionals, but it works well and is nice to see.
It's not every day you see a gelato shop with a line at the counter. The prices match the quality offered. But if you sit down, it's pricey. There's no sea view, and you sit just to enjoy the gelato. I must say, it's the best in Bari and the best I've ever had. The gelateria is near the most charming area of Bari.
Besides Gelateria Gentile, places like Martinucci, Mokambo, and Sandrino Gelato Artigianale have also won over locals. Martinucci, originally from Salento, adapted well to local tastes. They mix tradition with options that appeal to both locals and tourists! Here, everyone forgets their diet 😄
If you want to enjoy the view while indulging, Martinucci is perfect. It's beautiful and located in the heart of Bari, in Piazza Mercantile. It's great for a break during a walk downtown.
Among many options, I tried the profiterole. It was truly excellent: fresh, creamy, and well-balanced. The service was kind, and the atmosphere was elegant and welcoming. It's a recommended stop for anyone craving a quality dessert in one of the city's most beautiful squares.
