An Unforgettable Lunch in Bari

An unforgettable lunch on the seafront of Bari, featuring focaccia, fresh fish, and unique atmospheres.

An Unforgettable Lunch in Bari

In Bari, you don't need to go downtown to eat well. Actually, you can find good food almost everywhere. The night before, for example, we dined at Al Gusto Antico. They have great pizzas with different doughs and well-thought-out toppings. The service was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. We had a fantastic evening for just 18 euros. But Bari is also about its seafront.

A simple moment on Bari's seafront includes outdoor tables, traditional dishes, some chatter, passing cars, and the sea breeze adding to the lunch atmosphere.

Only after such an experience can you say you've truly been to Bari!

There are many places to eat, with options for every budget. You don't need to choose different areas. The offerings are diverse and accessible, from the wealthiest to those wanting to spend less.

We ate at La Battigia, and it met our expectations.

The fish quality is high. The seafood counter, where we chose a sea bream to share, is impressive. The fish was cooked in Pugliese style with potatoes, vegetables, and olives. As an appetizer, the chef offered us a traditional pasta assassina, made off-menu. It was well-balanced between crispiness and spiciness. The service is shared, with multiple waiters attending tables. Special mention to Massimo for his professionalism, availability, and attention, including kindness to our little dog. The dining room is elegant and well-maintained. When full, noise levels can rise, and the sea view is partly blocked by traffic and parked cars along the seafront.

What can I say? La Battigia fits perfectly into Bari's real seafront, full of people, movement, and daily life. It's great for couples wanting a relaxed lunch without too much formality. It's also perfect if you're with a dog, like we were.
