Torre Pozzella: the right campsite for the sea and real relaxation
Pine forest, sandy coves just steps away, friendly staff: here's what Camping Torre Pozzella is really like, from the comforts to the small flaws
I would recommend Camping Torre Pozzella for a peaceful vacation. It's great if you love nature and want the beach nearby. Plus, it's far from big tourist resorts. But if you need pools, entertainment, and evening shows, look elsewhere.
One of its main strengths is the location. The campsite is in a pine forest, just meters from Torre Pozzella's coves. It's one of the most beautiful coastal areas between Ostuni and Carovigno. Another practical feature is the large free parking right next to the campsite. During our stay, we always found parking easily. Only on Sundays, when many visitors head to Torre Pozzella beaches, does it fill up quickly. On other days, parking was never a problem.
The mobile homes impressed us too. They're almost new and have all the main comforts. The place is tidy and clean, perfect for relaxing away from chaos.
The campsite also has a bar-restaurant, handy if you don't want to drive. We tried some pasta dishes during our stay. They were well-prepared and cost around 8 euros.
The staff is very kind and helpful. We also appreciated their advice on beaches and nearby areas. During our stay, we noticed they easily assisted foreign guests in English.
Of course, it's not a perfect place. The bathrooms are a bit old, and the showers could be more comfortable. The minimarket can be limiting: it closes at lunchtime, so for a bigger shop, you often need to leave the campsite and find a supermarket.
There's something to know if you plan to visit Ostuni without a car. Public transport connections aren't very convenient: you need two buses to reach the city, and schedules don't always match the posted times. If you plan to explore the area often, a car is almost essential.
Finally, we really enjoyed the sea. The coves we visited had mostly sandy bottoms, so we never needed water shoes. Plus, Torre Pozzella's coast has many small coves. Even when it's windy and one is rough, you can often find a calmer spot just a few hundred meters away. During our stay, this was very handy, letting us find a quieter area without changing locations.
