Three Days in Alberobello
Discover what to do and see in Alberobello in three days, among trulli, culture, and nature.

Alberobello is a municipality in Puglia, famous for its trulli, ancient dry stone constructions. Visiting this place feels like diving into a world of tradition and architectural beauty. In three days, you can discover the heart of Alberobello, experience culinary and natural adventures, and visit nearby towns.
Day 1 – Discovering the Heart of Alberobello. Start your adventure in the Rione Monti area, the most iconic part of the town. Here, over a thousand trulli welcome you with their unique shapes. Stroll through the cobbled streets, enter artisan shops, and visit the Trullo Sovrano, the only two-story trullo. This place is a true symbol of local culture.
Continue to the Rione Aia Piccola, a less touristy and more authentic neighborhood. Here you can observe the daily life of the residents, who still live in trulli. It’s an opportunity to better understand local traditions and the way of life of the inhabitants.
For lunch, choose a typical trattoria to enjoy traditional dishes such as handmade orecchiette, fava beans and chicory, or Apulian panzerotti. These dishes represent the true essence of Apulian cuisine.
In the afternoon, visit the Museo del Territorio "Casa Pezzolla," a complex of trulli that tells the story and culture of Alberobello. This museum offers an immersion into rural life and local traditions.
The evening is perfect for a dinner under the stars in one of the restaurants overlooking the conical roofs of the trulli. The atmosphere is magical and the food delicious.
Day 2 – Culture, Flavors, and Nature. Dedicate the second day to more immersive experiences. Book a guided tour or a bike tour through the trulli and olive groves. Several local agencies offer itineraries in the Valle d’Itria, with tastings of extra virgin olive oil.
If you prefer, participate in an Apulian cooking workshop to learn how to make orecchiette or local sweets. This is a great opportunity to take a piece of Puglia home with you.
In the afternoon, visit a farmhouse in the surrounding area of Alberobello. Many farmhouses offer tastings of local cheeses and wines. Some even allow you to participate in the seasonal olive or grape harvest, an experience that brings you closer to rural life.
If you love nature, don’t miss the chance to take a walk in the Bosco Selva Natural Park, located about 2 km from the center. Here you can enjoy a beautiful landscape and the tranquility of nature.
The evening is ideal for relaxing in a facility with a pool or spa, many of which are located inside restored trulli, for a unique and rejuvenating experience.
Day 3 – Excursions Nearby. The third day is dedicated to discovering nearby towns. Just 10 km away is Locorotondo, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, famous for its white houses and flower-filled balconies. Nearby is Cisternino, perfect for a stroll and lunch with grilled meat cooked in local butcher shops.
Another recommended stop is Martina Franca, known for its baroque historic center. Here you can wander through the streets and admire the architecture.
In summer, consider spending half a day at the beach. The beaches of Monopoli or Capitolo are about 25-30 km away, offering a perfect balance between the tranquility of the trulli and relaxation by the sea.
Returning to Alberobello, conclude your vacation with an evening stroll among the illuminated trulli. The atmosphere is enchanting and will leave you with unforgettable memories.
