Parking in La Thuile for a stress-free visit

If you're planning a day (or week) skiing at La ThuileLa Thuile, the first worry is always the same: "Where do I park without walking miles in ski boots?"

Among the various parking options in town, my favorite for peace of mind is Parcheggio Coppapan. It's right by the ski lifts, super convenient for those who don't want to waste time in the morning.

Here are the updated practical details:

Total spots: 95

Type: paid (but very reasonable rates)

2025/26 Rates (valid in recent winters, always check the official site for any small changes):

1 hour → € 0.50

Additional hours → € 1.20 per hour

Daily (valid up to 6 consecutive days) → € 5.00 ← this is the real deal!

Payment periods:

January 1 - April 20

June 20 - September 10

December 3 - 31

Payment hours: every day from 8:30-12:00 and 14:00-19:00

Tip from regulars: if you're hoping for free parking, there's a small lot on the right just after the tunnel. Another, even smaller, is right in front of Taverna Coppapan. But... arrive very early (before 8:30) or you'll just drive around. I stopped trying after too many mornings of turning around.

La Thuile is part of the Espace San Bernardo, one of the most beautiful and varied cross-border ski areas in the Alps. You can ski from Italy to France (La Rosière) and back, without taking off your skis.

Elevation: from 1466 m (La Thuile - Golette area) to 2615 m (Colle Belvedere)

The French side goes even lower (1176 m at La Rosière - Seez)

Total Espace San Bernardo slopes: about 152 km (latest official data 2022, not much has changed)

Lifts: 19 serving La Thuile + connection to La Rosière

The scenery is spectacular: on one side, the Rutor glacierRutor glacier, and on the other, the southern side of Mont Blanc, which you can see clearly when the sky is clear. The technical and challenging slopes are mostly on the Italian side, while the French offer wider, sunnier trails (south-facing) perfect for relaxed days or learning.

Enjoy your skiing! ⛷️And if you use Coppapan... let us know how your day went! 😊
