Free Parking and Rickshaw Transfer in Polignano a Mare
Discover free parking and rickshaw transfer in Polignano.
Before coming to Polignano, you should know what the stripe colors mean:
Blue stripes indicate paid parking areas.
Yellow stripes (from April 25 to September 30) are for residents only. From October to April, these areas become white-striped parking.
White stripes mean free parking. They're often in high demand, especially during busy times. Finding a spot can take a lot of luck.
See, parking in Polignano's center can be quite a challenge. It's tough if you're not local, especially in the crowded summer. Luckily, there are distant parking spots that save you time.
Let's check them out together.
Before leaving, I researched online. I checked various sites and maps. I found some convenient and reliable parking areas for visiting Polignano stress-free.
Free Parking
There are several free parking spots. But during peak times (almost always), they're full. So, it's good to know them all:
Piazza Giovanni Paolo II Parking
Via Marconi Parking (behind the station)
Station Parking
Via Antonio Callea Parking
Via San Francesco and Oronzo Parking
Behind Cala Paura Parking
PAID PARKING
San Francesco Parking. It's paid (1.50 €/h) and not guarded.
MY CHOICE
During our weekend in Polignano a Mare, we visited Terrazze Monachile. It was a gift I wanted to give my wife 🤗. Besides being an iconic restaurant in Polignano, it offers guests free parking in a reserved area. When you book a table, you can use this dedicated free parking. It's designed to make your experience easier and more enjoyable. You don't need to search endlessly for a parking spot. You arrive, park in a reserved and safe area, and get ready to enjoy your evening stress-free.
The restaurant also offers an exclusive rickshaw transfer service from the parking to the venue. This transport is not only practical but also a charming way to start your Polignano experience. The ride is short but full of atmosphere and beauty, letting you admire the surrounding landscape. Terrazze Monachile is in a prime location, just steps from Lama Monachile, one of Polignano a Mare's most iconic spots.
I preferred to park in a paid parking lot during our stay in Polignano. I parked at Parcheggio Pugliamare, a guarded parking in San Vito.
The car was new, so I chose to spend a bit more to ensure it was safe and watched over. It's strategically located, close to the beautiful Porto Cavallo beach and near Cala Ponte Marina. This parking allowed us to enjoy the sea and the city without worries.
The parking rates are quite affordable: half-day costs 6 euros (up to 5 hours, exit by 8:00 PM), full day 10 euros (from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM), and 24 hours 15 euros. They also offer a convenient shuttle service to and from Polignano a Mare's historic center, costing 5 euros per car each way. The shuttle is available daily by reservation, with departures at 10:00, 11:30, 1:00, 2:30, 4:00, 5:30, and 7:00.
