Brindisi by night: aperitivo, bars and life in the historic centre
Where to drink, dine and listen to live music, at affordable prices between Via Conserva and Via Rubini
The Brindisi waterfront is the main spot for evening strolls. For an aperitif, though, head towards the station area. Use the Fontana delle Ancore as your landmark. From there, it's 80 meters on foot to reach Via Conserva.
In the morning, the street isn't special. But after 6 PM, it changes: lights turn on in the venues and along the street, outdoor tables fill with young people, and live music plays until late.
On some summer nights, most visitors are foreign tourists. This gives the place an international vibe.
Aperitif, dinner, and music between Via Conserva and Via Rubini
Unfortunately, we discovered this area only on the second day. Via Conserva and Via Rubini aren't well-advertised or marked in the city. You need to visit, especially in the evening, to feel the vibe and see the number of venues.
In Via Conserva, there are several wine bars where you don't just drink wine. You can start with an aperitif and then stay for dinner.
At *Rendez-Vous Bistrot*, we went in for a drink. Then we stayed for dinner and ordered the parmigiana.
The nice thing about Brindisi is everything's close: you arrive, stroll around, and pick a spot to stop.
To continue the evening, just move a bit: 80-100 meters towards Via Rubini and the Town Hall, there are more places with music and drinks, busy until late.
One evening, we also went to Via Rubini. We stopped at Fermento for a drink. They offer all kinds of alcoholic drinks (beers, wines, cocktails, plus gin, bitters, grappa, tequila, whiskey, and rum) and various snacks (crostini, pinse, baguettes, and platters).
We ended up eating something too: a Greek salad with feta, vegetables, olives, and especially homemade tzatziki. My partner and I have been to Greece several times, and we liked Fermento's tzatziki even more than those we tried there.
Another great thing about Brindisi is that it's relatively affordable for a night out. At *Rendez-Vous Bistrot*, between drinks and dinner, we spent just over 30 euros each, including parmigiana, roasted potatoes, and dessert.
We spent about the same at Fermento, on drinks and some food. With around 30 euros per person, you can enjoy a full evening, from drinks to dinner.
