Easy Parking in Ostuni
Discover where to park in Ostuni stress-free, with paid and free options.
Ostuni in high season is packed with people. Tourists are everywhere, streets are full, and bars and restaurants are bustling. It feels like a money-making machine: prices aren't crazy, but parking fines are strict. So, if you don't want to ruin your vacation, be careful. Let's be honest: tourists try to park anywhere because finding a spot near the center is tough. In high season, it's almost impossible. So, always wear comfy shoes because you'll need to walk a bit to reach the center. Ostuni is uphill, though not very steep. But don't let this discourage you; the town is worth every effort.
The historic center is mostly a limited traffic zone, so forget about driving in.
To get an idea, check out how the central area looks near the cathedral.
The main options are nearby paid parking lots.
If you plan ahead for your visit, I recommend the Parcheggio Tenente Specchia. If you enjoy walking, leave your car as soon as you enter Ostuni. In 15-20 minutes, you'll reach the center. The city is safe, and the outskirts are the only real area where you can park for free and easily. That's usually what I do. Otherwise, you'll drive around for many minutes without finding a spot.
If you want a nearby parking, I suggest Tenente Specchia. I've been there, but if you arrive at 6 PM, by 8 PM, it's full.
It's very convenient: 5-10 minutes on foot from the center. It's cheap and you can pay easily with EasyPark on your phone, no need to queue at machines.
For electric cars, there's charging available, but the stations are few.
Another super useful parking in Ostuni is Parcheggio al Giardino, on Via Giosuè Pinto. It's just a short walk from the beautiful historic center, even with a convenient staircase. It's terraced, clean, secure, and quiet. The owner is always friendly and kind. It costs only €20 per night, perfect for campers or cars.
Another affordable parking spot in Ostuni is Parcheggio Auto e Camper Mediterraneo (formerly Foro Boario). It's right at the foot of the historic center. This is a large dirt lot for both cars and campers.
It's convenient if you want to save money and be very close (just a few minutes uphill on foot). But don't expect luxury: it's basic and dusty in summer.
It's good for a day or a low-cost overnight stay.
Another decent parking option in Ostuni is Area Genco (or Parcheggio Area Genco). It's located in Contrada Santo Stefano 3, about 800-900 meters from the historic center. It's a manageable walk, even if slightly uphill.
This is a gravel/dirt lot shared by cars and campers. It's a bit rough (dusty in summer, some potholes), but it's fine for a night or a day in the city. It's lit, which feels safe when there are other vehicles (often 5-10 campers together).
Across the street, there's a convenient laundromat, perfect for a quick refresh. Currently, it's free or low-cost, but I've seen new payment stations installed and covered. It will probably become paid soon.
