Bari, a Cinematic City

Bari emerges as a cinematic set, with films and series highlighting its beauty and authenticity.

Bari, a Cinematic City

In recent years, Bari has become a popular filming location. Many visitors come after seeing a TV show. So, it's helpful to know where Lolita Lobosco and Guerrieri were filmed. Also, see where their locations overlap.

What surprised me most, walking through Bari, was recognizing TV spots but hearing different sounds. You hear chatter, even in the Bari dialect, creating a unique atmosphere. It's different from what you see on TV.

The most used area is Bari Vecchia. Lolita Lobosco often moves here: Basilica of San Nicola, Cathedral of San Sabino, especially Piazza dell'Odegitria. It's a symbol of the series. Everything is close and walkable from Corso Vittorio Emanuele II or the Port. Since it's pedestrian-only, park outside the historic center.

Guerrieri also visits Bari Vecchia, but in a quieter area: the Muraglia. At the start of Via Venezia, you'll find Palazzo Andidero. In the show, it's lawyer Guido Guerrieri's home.

We're still in the historic center but in a quieter part than tourist squares. Nearby is Fortino di Sant'Antonio, offering one of the best sea views.

Guerrieri is also linked to Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. This street divides Bari Vecchia from the new city. In the series, his office is here. It's a central area and fits any walk easily.

The Lungomare Nazario Sauro is a famous TV backdrop. It's often used in Lolita Lobosco, especially at sunset with the sea. You can walk or bike from Teatro Margherita. Guerrieri appears less in this scenic part.

Also tied to Lolita is the Pane e Pomodoro beach. It shows a more everyday Bari in many scenes. Locals and tourists love it because it's in the city. No car needed. It's south of the center and a 15-20 minute walk from the lungomare. On sunny days, it's often crowded.

Outside the main series, the Libertà neighborhood is used for modern urban settings. It's northwest of the center. You can walk there in 15-20 minutes from the central station. It also has some nice buildings to see.

If you want to see most locations quickly, start at Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. That's where Guerrieri's office is in the series. Then enter Bari Vecchia to Piazza dell'Odegitria, a symbol of Lolita Lobosco. Continue along the Muraglia to Palazzo Andidero and Fortino di Sant'Antonio. Finish at Lungomare Nazario Sauro at sunset. It's a popular setting for Lolita scenes. In about two hours, you'll see TV Bari. This route mixes both series' locations seamlessly.
